How to Practice

Tip: Watch a couple innings of a real game on TV and score along with it in the app.

  1. 1 Open GameChanger and tap on your team.
  2. 2 Tap the gear icon on the top right.
  3. 3 Tap "Practice Scoring a Game".

Game Day Setup

Starting the Game

  • Ensure the coach has set you as scorekeeper or team admin.
  • Tap your team ➔ Tap "Schedule" ➔ Tap "Score Game".

Pre-Game Checks

  • Verify app lineups match the paper lineups given to the umpire.
  • If missing, tap "My Team" and "Opponent" at the bottom to add them manually.

Pro Tips

Sit close to the umpire to hear calls. Introduce yourself so they can check counts/scores with you.

Buddy System: Sit next to the scoreboard operator. They can help track plays if you fall behind.

In-Game Action

Moving Baserunners

Tap and hold on the runner, then drag them to the base they should be on (e.g., after a wild pitch).

Fixing Mistakes

Tap "Undo" on the bottom right to remove the last thing scored. You can tap it multiple times.

Pitch Counts

Tap "Stats" on the bottom right, then "Pitching" on top. Perfect for answering umpire/coach questions mid-game.

Skipping a Batter

Tap their name. Select "Skip" (for one at-bat) or "Sub Out" (if leaving game permanently due to injury, etc).

Fielding Subs

Tap the player's name on the field and select their replacement. Crucial for pitchers to track pitch counts accurately! Pay attention to jersey numbers.

Ending Half Innings

3 outs ends it automatically. 5 runs reached? Manually end it: Tap "Menu""End Half Inning".

Note: 5 run limit does not apply in 6th inning & later.

Don't Sweat It!

If you get flustered, take a breath. Just ensure the Score, Outs, Pitcher, and Batter are correct, then move on. You can always fix it via Menu ➔ Manual Overrides. This isn't the pros!
